Overall placed fifth among 117 runners at the Bill Dellinger Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon.  He finished the 8K race in 23:31, missing fourth place by just three seconds.

 

Female Athlete of the Week

 

Claire Holme

Butler

Jr., Stowmarket, England

Holme, running in her second career race for the Bulldogs, finished 18th out of 95 runners at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon.  She covered the 6K women's race in 21:05.  She was 10 seconds shy of a Top-10 finish in the race.

Gabriel Ngwiri

UIC

Fr., Ruiru, Kenya

In only his second career meet, Ngwiri ran a UIC all-time best 24:38 in the men's 8,000-meter race at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, placing third overall and guiding the Flames to a fourth-place team finish.

 

Sam Romanoski

Loyola

Sr., Lake Zurich, Ill.

Romanoski was Loyola's highest finisher for the fourth time in the four meets this season, completing the 8K course at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in 24:40 for fourth place in the individual standings.

 

Nick Kruse

Youngstown State

Sr., Napoleon, Ohio

Kruse ran his best time of the season with a 40th-place time of 25:50 at the Notre Dame Invitational.

 

Other Women's Top Performers for the Week

 

Laura Macias

UIC

Sr., Chicago, Ill.

Macias matched her UIC career-best time of 18:04 to place fifth overall at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Saturday. Macias has led UIC in all seven meets she has raced for the Flames.

 

Ashley Raymond

Loyola

So., Wheaton, Ill.

Raymond led Loyola at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, being the highest finisher for the fourth time in as many meets. Raymond completed the 5K course in 18:14 for seventh place out of 175 runners.

 

Marielle Glanz

Youngstown State

Sr., Liberty Center, Ohio

Glanz was the top finisher for the women's squad for the first time this season, clocking in with a time of 19:47 at the Notre Dame Invitational.

 

Holly Nearman

UW-Milwaukee

So., Monroe, Wis.

Nearman led the Panthers to an eighth-place finish at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, finishing 21st to lead the UW-Milwaukee contingent. She posted a time of 18:42 to pace UWM in the 19-team field.
