Male Athlete of the Week

 

Scott Overall

Butler

Sr., Twickenham, England

Overall established himself as one of the elite runners in the nation with a top-10 individual finish at the Brooks Pre-National Meet. Overall placed ninth in the meet, which featured 45 of the top 60 men's and women's teams in the nation!  He crossed the finish line in 25:53, just two seconds behind Billy Nelson of Colorado in eighth place. Overall was just seven seconds behind fifth-place finisher Andrew Lemoncello of runner-up Florida State.

 

Female Athlete of the Week

 

Ava Hutchinson

Butler

Sr., Fleet, United Kingdom

Hutchinson paced Butler's women to a 12th-place team finish at the Brooks Pre-National Meet. She finished 32nd in 20:55.  Hutchinson missed a top-25 individual finish by just five seconds.

Joseph Mbari

UIC

Jr., Gathukuyu, Kenya

Mbari paced the Flames to a third-place team finish with a sixth-place 8,000-meter mark of 25:41 at the Bradley Classic.

 

Sam Romanoski

Loyola

Sr., Lake Zurich, Ill.

Romanoski ran unattached in the 8K white division race and placed 35th in 24:13 to be the team's highest finisher for the fifth time in five meets this season.

 

Juan Zamora

Wright State

Jr., West Milton, Ohio

Zamora completed the Falcon Invitational in a season-best time of 26:45 to lead the Green and Gold for the sixth consecutive week. Zamora placed 32nd overall in the race, nine runners ahead of the next Raider finisher.

 

Andrew Hayner

Detroit

Jr., Royal Oak, Mich.

Hayner finished 30th at the Falcon Invitational with a time of 26:39. This is a new personal record for an 8K race.

 

Nick Hawley

UW-Milwaukee

Jr., Appleton, Wis.

Hawley led the Panthers to a fourth-place finish at the 13-team Falcon Invitational. He posted a time of 26:01.73 in leading UWM for the second time in three races this season.

 

Nick Kruse

Youngstown State

Sr., Napoleon, Ohio

Kruse ran a season-best 8K time of 25:41.10 to lead the men's squad to a fifth-place finish at the Falcon Invitational. Kruse was the top Horizon League finisher at the meet, placing fourth overall and third among collegiate runners.

Laura Macias

UIC

Sr., Chicago, Ill.

Macias placed third out of 127 runners at the Bradley Classic, surpassing her previous 6,000-meter best with a time of 22:06.

 

Ashley Raymond

Loyola

So., Wheaton, Ill.

Raymond finished seventh overall out of 226 runners in the women's open race to lead the Ramblers to a fifth-place finish. She was Loyola's highest finisher for the fifth consecutive meet this season, completing the 6K course in 21:45.

 

Marie McVetta

Wright State

Sr., Grafton, Ohio

McVetta led the Raiders for the sixth consecutive week at the Falcon Invitational, covering the 5K course in a season-best time of 19:41. The senior became the first Raider to break to the 20-minute mark this season.

 

Caitlan Ebner

Cleveland State

Fr., North Royalton, Ohio

Ebner clocked a 20:27, her second-best effort of the year, at the Falcon Invitational. Ebner has now led the Vikings in all six of the team's meets this season.

 

Holly Nearman

UW-Milwaukee

So., Monroe, Wis.

Nearman was UWM's top finisher for the fourth-straight meet, leading the team with an 11th-place finish at the Falcon Invitational. She crossed the line in 18:33.49 to lead Milwaukee in the 19-team field.

 

Marielle Glanz

Youngstown State

Sr., Liberty Center, Ohio

Senior Marielle Glanz led the women's squad with a time of 19:58.82 at the Falcon Invitational.
