Northern Kentucky (3-0-0) and Cleveland State (2-0-1) both remained unbeaten on the year while Detroit and Valparaiso notched their first victories of the season on Friday night.

Detroit 2, Ohio 0: Alyssa Lotito equaled her goal output from last season in the first half against Ohio, scoring two markers in the opening frame to help lift Detroit to a 2-0 victory over the Bobcats at Titan Field. Lotito scored the first goal of a penalty kick early in the 12th minute. Twenty-eight minutes later, Lotito found herself all alone roughly 25 yards outside of the goal and punished a perfect, curling ball into the top left corner of the net. Read more...(link)

Cleveland State 2, Eastern Kentucky 1: Cleveland State answered an early Eastern Kentucky goal with two of its own and stayed unbeaten with a 2-1 victory at EKU. The win was the second straight for the Vikings, who rallied from an early 1-0 deficit. Toni Dickson's first career goal knotted the match in the 12th minute before Vickie Havas scored the game-winner in the 52nd. Havas is just three goals shy of the CSU career record. Read more…(link)

Valparaiso 2, Miami (Ohio) 0: Valparaiso took full advantage of their opportunities at goal Friday, scoring a pair of goals on four shots in knocking off Miami, 2-0. Valpo broke the scoreless deadlock just after the midway point of the first half, as Rita Craven converted a penalty kick converting for her first goal of the season to make it 1-0 Valpo. Northern Kentucky 4, The Citadel 0: Northern Kentucky posted its second-straight shutout as it defeated The Citadel, 4-0, at WLI Field. Winning its third straight match, the Norse offense was led by redshirt junior Aubrey Muench who scored a pair of goals on her only two shot attempts of the match. Read more…(link)

Ball State 2, Wright State 1: Paige Aguilera’s second-half goal drew Wright State within one, but the Raiders could not find the equalizer, falling to Ball State. Halle Pyle made eight saves in goal for the Raiders, who were outshot, 25-8. Read more…(link)

St. Mary’s 3, Green Bay 0: Playing its home opener, Green Bay fell to St. Mary’s but freshman Kelly Kent showed promise at goalkeeper. Receiving the nod, Kent picked up eight saves in the contest despite allowing three goals. Read more…(link)

Illinois State 3, Milwaukee 1: Milwaukee led by a goal at the half, but three second half tallies sent Illinois State past the Panthers, 3-1, in Normal, Ill. The Panthers got off on the right foot, as Sydney Senn's 16th-minute tally gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead it would take into the half. Read more...(link)

Saint Louis 4, UIC 1: UIC was unable to come back from a 2-0 deficit despite bringing the score within one on a goal by Naomi Rushe as Saint Louis claimed the 4-1 win. The Flames were limited in their attempts as the Billikens’ offense persisted and registered a total of 30 shots, an opponent high in UIC’s two-year history, and had 15 reach on goal. Army 2, Youngstown State 1: Alison Green’s first career goal tied the match in the 79th minute, but a late Army goal dropped Youngstown State, 2-1. Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth Balgoyen recorded eight saves for the Penguins. Read more…(link)
