Vikings Get Back On Track With 3-2 Victory Over Valparaiso
Behind a career-high 28 kills from junior Grace Kauth, the Cleveland State volleyball team got back on the winning track Friday evening, picking up a 3-2 victory against Valparaiso. The win improves Cleveland State to 17-4 overall this season and 6-1 in Horizon League play.
Green Bay Sweeps Fourth Straight in Horizon League, Beats UWM 3-0
Harbinger or not, Friday night at the Kress Center certainly had a 2003 feel to it for more reasons than one. With several members of the lone NCAA Tournament team in program history in attendance on Alumni Day, the Green Bay volleyball team (14-7, 5-3 HL) did something not even that team could accomplish: sweep four consecutive Horizon League matches.
Golden Grizzlies Sweep Northern Kentucky on the Road
Jessica Dood recorded nine kills on a .471 hitting percentage, Alli Gutschow collected 12 digs and both Melissa Deatsch and Sammy Condon tallied double-digit kills as the Oakland women's volleyball team defeated Northern Kentucky in three sets on Friday from Regents Hall. Amanda Baker became the school's all-time leader in block assists during the second set and ended the match with five total blocks.
UIC Triumphs over Youngstown State, 3-1
UIC prevailed in a tightly-contested match as it pieced together its third Horizon League victory away from home Friday night by downing the Youngstown State Penguins at the Beeghly Center, 3-1 (25-22, 30-28, 14-25, 26-24). With Friday’s victory the Flames have won three consecutive matches overall for the second time this season.
