CSU's Joe Latas To Play in All-Star Tour of Europe

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sophomore center Joe Latas, the only returning post player on the Viking basketball team this season, will play five games in Prague in the Czech Republic and Vienna in Austria this month as part of a tour with the East Coast All-Stars.

"This is going to be a great opportunity for me," Latas said. "We toured overseas one summer when I was in high school and then we went to Spain as a team last summer so I am used to the international style of play.

"The best part is I will be playing with a lot of Big East players which will help me to improve my game. The competition will also be at the top level because we are only playing national teams and the top pro clubs."

The tour begins on Aug. 2 when Latas reports to Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA to for a one-day practice session. The following day (Aug. 3), the team will train in Madison Square Garden before catching a flight to Prague.
