INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State guard Kim Demmings (Richmond, Ind.) has been named the Horizon League women’s basketball Player of the Week after leading the Raiders to a third-place finish at the Gulf Coast Showcase and Detroit forward Megan Galloway (Greenville, Ohio) has been named Freshman of the Week after a strong performance for the Titans at the Florida Atlantic Thanksgiving Classic.

Demmings averaged 28.3 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game last week as the Raiders won two of three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase. She opened the tournament with 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, as the Raiders defeated North Carolina State, 99-90. The loss was the first for the Wolfpack this season.

On Saturday, Demmings had 27 points, connecting on 5-of-8 from three-point range in Wright State’s 69-62 loss to Middle Tennessee. She and her teammates rebounded on Sunday with a 79-77 buzzer-beating win over James Madison (ranked sixth in the CollegeInsider Mid-Major Top-25 Poll) to finish in third place. Demmings had 28 points and 11 rebounds, along with four assists and three steals in the contest. It was the first double-double of the season for the Horizon League’s Preseason Player of the Year.

For the season, Demmings leads the League with a scoring average of 24.2 points per game.

Galloway had two solid games for the Titans last week in Florida. She had seven points and six rebounds in Detroit’s first contest, a 70-59 loss to Rhode Island. In the third-place game on Saturday, she had a season-high 16 points and tied her season-high with seven rebounds as Detroit held off Georgia Southern, 82-79. Galloway was 7-of-9 from the field in the game.

Top Performers for the Week:
Ruvanna Campbell, UIC (So., F) - Campbell had career-highs with 24 points and 18 rebounds in UIC’s 76-67 win over Ohio. It was her fifth consecutive double-double. She had 15 points and nine rebounds in the Flames 70-66 win over Texas Southern.
Imani Gordon, Cleveland State (Jr., F) - Gordon posted a career-high 25 points against East Carolina, shooting 10-of-15 from the field. She notched her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds against IUPUI.
Lexi Miller, Valparaiso (So., G) - Miller was named to the FIU Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team. She averaged 12.5 ppg., 6.0 rpg., and 2.5 apg.
Olivia Nash, Oakland (So., F) - Nash tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds in the Golden Grizzlies win over Niagara. She had 13 points and nine rebounds against Temple.
Breannah Ranger, Green Bay (Sr., F) - Ranger was named MVP of the Maine Thanksgiving Tournament. She led the Phoenix in scoring, rebounds and blocks over the weekend. She had a career-high 18 points in the win against Maine on Saturday.
Angela Rodriguez, Milwaukee (Sr., G) - Rodriguez paced the Panthers with a 23.0 ppg. scoring average last week. She scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds against New Mexico. She tied her career-high with 30 points to lead Milwaukee to an 84-81 win over New Mexico State.
Heidi Schlegel, Youngstown State (Jr., F) - Schlegel averaged 19.5 ppg., for the Penguins in two contests last week. She had 24 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field plus 11-of-13 from the foul line against West Virginia.
Senee Shearer, Detroit (Sr., G) - Shearer was named to the All-Tournament Team at the FAU Thanksgiving Classic. She posted a pair of 20-point scoring games, finishing with 22 vs. Rhode Island and 21 against Georgia Southern.

Top Freshman for the Week:
Nola Anderson, Oakland (Fr., G) - Anderson made her first two career starts last week and responded with 12 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in 45 minutes of action. She had eight points and eight rebounds in Oakland’s win over Niagara.
Tesha Buck, Green Bay (Fr., G) - Buck was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Maine Thanksgiving Tournament. She had a career-high 13 points against Maine and also set career-highs with two blocks and seven assists against William & Mary.
Bre’Zall Warren, Milwaukee (Fr., G) - Warren averaged 7.0 ppg., for the Panthers last week. She connected on four three-pointers last week and scored in double figures against New Mexico, finishing with 10 points.
