Detroit clinched a share of the Horizon League regular season crown, while Green Bay stayed alive for a berth in the Horizon League Tournament on Wednesday night.

Two second half goals sent Detroit past visiting Youngstown State, giving the Titans their first share of the Horizon League regular season title since 1996.
Detroit (9-6-1, 5-2-0 Horizon) will now wait for the result of the Cleveland State-Milwaukee match this Friday to determine if the Horizon League Championship will be at either Milwaukee or Detroit. A win for Milwaukee means the Panthers will host as the No. 1 seed but a tie or loss will place the semifinal and final rounds of the tournament at Titan Field and give Detroit the top seed.
Both Milwaukee and Detroit have earned a bye into the Horizon League Semifinal that will be played on Friday, Nov. 2 with the time, opponent, and location to yet be determined.
After a scoreless first half, Kaitlyn Quarrell netted her fourth goal of the year to grab the eventual game-winner. The junior took the ball 25 yards from her own goal and went the length of the field for the first goal of the game at 46:54.
In the 61st minute, Heather Brown recorded her first collegiate goal from the top of the 18-yard box to give the Titans an insurance goal.
Titan goalkeeper Nora Abolins recorded four saves posting her ninth shutout of the season and 24th of her career. With the shutout, Abolins now ranks first all-time at UDM in career shutouts. She also tied the single-season best of nine blankings in one season and now has a 0.52 goals against average on the season with just eight goals allowed in 15 games.
Youngstown State (7-8-0, 2-4-0 Horizon) will host Wright State on Saturday, with the Penguins needing at least one point to earn a bid in the Horizon League Tournament.
Green Bay 1, Loyola 0
After failing to record a shot in the first half, Green Bay upped its pressure in the second, using a late goal to stun host Loyola, 1-0, at the Loyola Soccer Park.
Green Bay (5-10-1, 2-3-1 Horizon) began applying consistent pressure in the last stage of the match, forcing Loyola (7-8-3, 2-3-2 Horizon) keeper Monica Gonyo to clear a shot off the line with 10 minutes to play.
However, the Phoenix kept up the effort, earning a corner kick with six minutes remaining. Hekla Palmadottir’s corner rattled around the box before Ahna Logan’s shot was blocked. The carom went to Megan Braatz, who line drive shot beat Gonyo up and to the left with 4:57 remaining in the match.
Loyola was able to earn one corner kick in the final five minutes, but could not put a shot on goal. Nastacia Behle tallied four saves to pick up her first career shutout for the Phoenix.
Green Bay will need at least one point in its last match of the year, hosting Valparaiso on Saturday, Oct. 27, as it attempts to earn a big in the Horizon League Tournament. Loyola will await the results of the remaining three matches of the regular season to see if it qualifies for the League Tournament.
