INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit juniors Charles Anthony (Northville, Mich.) and Nicole Meisner (Huntington Woods, Mich.) have been named the Horizon League Indoor Track Runners of the Week.

It was the second-straight sweep to start the 2012-13 indoor season: last week, a pair of Loyola Ramblers took the honors.

Competing at the Blue and Gold Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, Anthony posted a pair of first place finishes for the Titans. In the 60m, he beat out a field of 10 competitors with a 7.21, and in the 200m, Anthony set a personal record with a 22.56, beating out 10 other runners.

Meisner, meanwhile, finished second in the 60m, posting a new personal record of 7.79, the fourth-fastest time in school history. In the 200m, the junior finished in seventh-place with a 25.83 mark.

Following the holiday break, Anthony, Meisner and the rest of the Titans will return to action on Jan. 11 at the Central Michigan Invitational.
