INDIANAPOLIS— Detroit, fresh off a second straight Horizon League Women’s Golf Championship, will be headed to Cle Elum, Washington, to participate in the 2014 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships May 8-10. For the first time in history, the NCAA Division I Golf Committee announced the teams and individuals for this year’s championship on Golf Channel.

The Titans are one of 24 teams assigned to the West Regional, being hosted by the University of Washington at Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort. The Central Regional is in Stillwater, Okla., and the East Regional is in Tallahassee, Fla.

Last year, Detroit played in the Central Region at Oklahoma's Jimmie Austin Golf Club and placed in a tie for 23rd.

The Titans have won the Horizon League each of the last two seasons, and their most recent victory marked their third league crown since 2010. Detroit will be looking for its first trip to the championship finals, which takes place May 20-23 in Tulsa, Okla., at the Tulsa Country Club.

Detroit is led by two-time Horizon League Player of the Year Lindsey Lammers, who leads the league in scoring at 75.86 strokes per round.

Lammers finished first at the 2014 Horizon League Golf Championships with a 54-hole total 228 (76-77-75). It marked the second time the right-handed golfer has captured medalist honors.

The squad returns the trio of Lammers, Christina Thorne and Olivia Richards who participated in last season’s NCAA Regional.

The 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships selections will be announced live on Monday, May 5 from 10:00 to 11 a.m. ET during Morning Drive on Golf Channel.
