Detroit, Mich. - University of Detroit Mercy assistant women's basketball coach DaeDra Charles-Furlow has been selected to the ESPN.com top 25 players of the past 25 years as the NCAA and ESPN celebrate the silver anniversary of the inaugural NCAA women's basketball season.

Charles-Furlow, who starred at the University of Tennessee from 1988-91 is in her third year on head coach Mickey Barrett's staff after coming aboard prior to the 2003-04 season.

The first woman from the SEC to win the Wade Trophy, Charles-Furlow was part of two Tennessee NCAA title runs. As a sophomore in 1988-89, she netted 13 points (she averaged less than 10 points per game that season) in the championship game. Two years later as a senior, Charles-Furlow tallied 19 points and 12 boards against Virginia in the first overtime NCAA title game (70-67). A two-time Kodak All-American (1990, '91), Charles-Furlow was a combined 12-for-20 (60 percent) in her NCAA final appearances. Despite missing her freshman season as partial qualifier, Charles-Furlow capped her career seventh in scoring (1,495 points), sixth in rebounding (858) and second in blocks (97) in Tennessee history. She spent time playing in Europe, Asia as well as in the WNBA with the Los Angeles Sparks before making the move to the coaching ranks.
