INDIANAPOLIS –Detroit’s Ryan Ayala and Alexandria Vintevoghel and Cleveland State’s Allison Craine have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Oct. 4 - 10.

Ayala, a senior from Coopersville Mich., was Detroit’s top finisher in the Michigan Intercollegiate 8K race on Friday. He ran a time of 27:25, finishing 33rd out of 206 runners.

Vintevoghel, a sophomore from Casco, Mich., took 49th out of a field 224 runners at the Michigan Intercollegiate on Friday. She led the Titans for the fifth time this season, running the 5K in a time of 19:41.

Also finishing a 5K in a time of 19:41 was Allison Craine, a junior from Austintown, Ohio. She helped the Vikings to a first place finish out of 15 teams at the Shawnee State Invitational on Friday. The team win was the first under head coach Joe Jaketic.

Both teams return to action Oct. 16th with Detroit traveling to Pennsylvania to compete in the Penn State National and Cleveland State competing in the Falcon Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio.
