WASHINGTON, DC -- Sophomore Dominique Dixon (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) continued her offensive surge with a pair of 30-point games last weekend and for that, the Titan guard was named the National Jesuit Player of the Week, announced by the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight.

Dixon put on a show tallying back-to-back career highs with 31 points at Green Bay and 32 markers at Milwaukee. She was a career-best 12-of-18 from the field against the Phoenix with three 3-pointers and came back to nail 11-of-16 field goals and a career-high six triples against the Panthers. She also recorded a collegiate-high five assists and matched her career mark with five rebounds against Milwaukee.

With the back-to-back 30-point outings, she became just the second player in school history to tally two-straight games with 30 or more with the other nearly 30 years ago as Cheryl Williams opened the 1981-82 season with 32 against Bowling Green and 35 at Eastern Michigan.

For the week, Dixon averaged 23.7 points in the Titans’ three games (she had eight at the start of the week against Marygrove) connecting on 61 percent from the field (27-of-44), 64 percent from three (9-of-14) and 88 percent from the free throw line (8-of-9). She also came away with 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight is a nationwide effort to capitalize on basketball games between Jesuit schools and, through those games, bring greater positive awareness and exposure to Jesuit education and its shared mission. This project was developed by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in response to member institutions wanting to spread the word about Jesuit higher education through basketball games (men’s and women’s) played between Jesuit opponents.
