INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit freshman Lucas Kim has been named Horizon League Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Butler senior Michele Nash has been named Horizon League Women’s Golfer of the Week for the period from March 21-27.

Kim finished second at the Butler Spring Invitational played at Prestwick Country Club in Avon Ind., on Monday and Tuesday. Kim recorded a one-under-par 71 on the first day and followed up with an even-par 72 on the final day to finish in second, one stroke behind the winner. The Titan freshman made up four strokes on the leader on the final day to record his first career top-five finish.

The Titans as a team finished tied for fifth in the 10 team field.

The Detroit men’s golf team returns to action on April 7 when it plays in the NYX Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.

Nash won the Women’s Golfer of the Week award after winning the Butler Spring Invitational. Nash shot an opening 76 and a final round 77 to win by two strokes.

The Bulldogs won the event after capturing four of the top-five individual spots. Butler finished with a team score of 639, 32 strokes better than second-place Evansville who recorded a score of 671.

Butler’s women’s golf team is next in action on April 5 when it plays in the Big Four at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
