Detroit's Mary Parker earns spot on <i>Soccer Buzz</i> National Elite Team of the Week

Women's soccer All-America candidate Mary Parker has added to an already outstanding week - one that has seen her named both the Horizon League Women's Soccer Player of the Week and the League's Scholar Athlete of the Week - with a selection to the SoccerBuzz.com National Elite Team of the Week that announced by the online publication Wednesday. This is the second time that Parker has been placed on the team in her career.

Last week Parker netted four goals, including two game winners in setting a new Detroit record for career game winning goals with 16.

Parker etched her name deeper in the Titan record books again, this time setting the career game winning goals record with her 16th winner in a 3-2 come from behind win over Butler on Sunday. Parker had all three Titan scores for her second hat trick of the season. Parker had tied the record against IPFW on Wednesday with a score in the first half in a 2-0 Titan win. For the week, Parker had four goals to move her season total to 10 and her career total to 40. She also has 95 career points after this week, fifth place all-time at Detroit, and is on the verge of becoming just the 12th player in League history to score 100 career points.

Parker currently sits 14th nationally in goals per game (0.77), 15th nationally in points per game (1.85), with her four-goal outburst against Cleveland State on Sept. 29 being the second most goals scored by a player at the Division I level this season. The nine points Parker picked up against the Vikings is good for fourth nationally for a single game thus far in 2006.
