Senee Shearer ended a great career at the University of Detroit Mercy as the all-time three-point leader with 231 treys and she will now take her long distance shooting overseas as a member of a USA All-Star Team and by signing a professional contract in Poland.

"I am really excited about the opportunity to play professionally and to travel to China," said Shearer who graduated in May with a psychology degree. "One of my goals growing up was to play professional basketball and I worked so hard to get to this point so it is exciting to reach this goal."

Prior to embarking on her professional career, Shearer will travel to China in a three-city tour with a USA All-Star Team, visiting Langzhong, Sichuan Provence, Jixi, Heilongjiang Provence, and Hegang and Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang Provence.

Team USA will face Mozambique, Denmark and China during its' three-city tour, which is scheduled for August 3-17.

Shearer's professional career will then get underway with MUKS Widzew Lodz as she will head to Poland in early September for the seven-month season.

The contract signals the fourth women's basketball player under head coach Autumn Rademacher '97 to move into the professional ranks following Yar Shayok (France, 2013),Demeisha Fambro (Portugal, 2013) and Brigid Mulroy (Germany, 2010).

She also becomes the 20th Titan in the last six years to move to the professional level joining a list that includes men's basketball players Ray McCallum, Eli Holman, Nick Minnerath, Doug Anderson, Chris Blake, Jermaine Lippert, Chase Simon and Thomas Kennedy along with men's soccer standouts Adam Bedell, Nate Robinson and Moustafa Bazzi, Jordan Houtby and Joel Matthews from men's lacrosse, men's golfers David Byrne and Simon Reyers, and Pablo Nunez of men's tennis.

Shearer finished her collegiate career with 1,248 points – 13th in school history – as well as the school record for total 3-pointers and 3-pointers in a season with the 97 she drained in 2013-14. A Horizon League Second Team honoree as a senior, Shearer helped UDM reach the HL Championship in 2012 and win the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) in 2013, the first postseason title for the Titans since 1981.
