INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State guard KC Elkins (West Jefferson, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and Green Bay forward Mehryn Kraker (West Allis, Wis.) has been named Freshman of the Week.

Elkins earned Player of the Week honors after setting a school record and tying a League record with 10 three-pointers in Wright State’s win over Valparaiso on Saturday. The guard playing on her Senior Day was 10-of-14 from three-point range and finished the game with a career-high 37 points. The 37 points were the most scored by a Horizon League player this season. She added six rebounds and four steals in the game.

Wright State (23-8, 12-4) will be the number two seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament and will open play against seventh-seeded Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Kraker won her third Freshman of the Week honor this season after a stellar week helped Green Bay clinch its 16th consecutive Horizon League regular season title. She recorded her first career double-double on Saturday, finishing with 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in the Phoenix win over Detroit. In Thursday’s win over Oakland, she scored 12 points and had a team-high four assists. She shot .667 from the field in both games (4-of-6 on Thursday and 6-of-9 on Saturday) and was over 50 percent from three-point range (4-of-7) while going a perfect 5-for-5 at the line.

Green Bay (20-8, 13-3) is the top-seed in the Horizon League Tournament and will open play on Wednesday against the winner of Monday night’s first round game between Valparaiso and Detroit.

Top Performers for the Week:
Cori Coleman, Cleveland State
(Jr., G) - Coleman tallied 22 points, eight rebounds, and five steals at Youngstown State on Saturday. She made four three-pointers against YSU to now rank second at CSU with 66 three-pointers on the season and 5th with 151 on her career.
Ashley Green, Milwaukee (Jr., F) - Green averaged 23.5 points and 5.0 rebounds last week, highlighted by a 32-point performance against Valparaiso that missed her career-high by just one point. She also tied her career-best with six steals against the Crusaders.
Katie Hannemann, UIC (Sr., C) - Hannemann poured in a game-high 27 points on Senior Night and became the 19th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. She was 10-of-17 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free throw line for her ninth career 20-point performance. She also grabbed 10 rebounds for her 13th career double-double and seventh this season.
Sharon Karungi, Valparaiso (Jr., F) - Karungi scored 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting in Valpo’s game at Wright State on Saturday.
Tayelor McCalister, Detroit (So., G) - McCalister posted her second 20-point game of the season with 22 at UIC along with six assists.
Elena Popkey, Oakland (So., G) - Popkey scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds at Milwaukee. She hit her first five field goal attempts in the game against the Panthers.
Breannah Ranger, Green Bay (Sr., F) - Ranger totaled back-to-back career high point performances over the weekend, shooting over 50 percent from the field in both games. She had a then career-high 19 points and a team-high six rebounds in the win over Oakland on Thursday. On Saturday, she had a career-high 20 points and added four rebounds and three steals.
Heidi Schlegel, Youngstown State (Jr., F) - Schlegel averaged 20.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game last week. She posted game highs of 24 points and 15 rebounds while matching a career-high with five assists versus Wright State. She had 17 points, a game-high nine rebounds and five more assists in the win over Cleveland State to clinch the number three seed in the HL Tournament.

Top Freshman for the Week:
Nola Anderson, Oakland (Fr., G) - Anderson scored eight second half points in the game at Green Bay. She averaged 6.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game last week.
Minisha Frederick-Childress, Detroit (Fr., G) - Frederick-Childress tallied a season-high 15 points and 5 steals at UIC.
Kelsea Newman, Youngstown State (Fr., G) - Newman averaged 11.5 points per game last week and connected on seven three-pointers. She scored a career-high 17 points behind five three-pointers in 23 minutes against Wright State.
Olivia Voskuhl, Cleveland State (Fr., F) - Voskuhl notched 11 points on a 4-for-6 performance, including 3-of-4 from three-point range, at Youngstown State.
