CHICAGO (AP) - Blake Schilb had 23 points, six rebounds and four assists as Loyola advanced to the Horizon League Tournament quarterfinals with a 76-61 first round victory over Youngstown State on Tuesday night.

Leon Young hit a pair of free throws, Schilb sank a 3-pointer as the shot clock expired and Chris Logan added a free throw to put the Ramblers ahead 69-54 going into the final two minutes of the game.

The Penguins had come within nine behind Quin Humphrey - who had 19 of his team-high 22 points in the second half - after Loyola built a 32-17 edge at intermission, capitalizing on 29 percent shooting by the Penguins and outrebounding Youngstown State 23-11 in the first half.

Logan had 18 points to back up Schilb, and Young finished with 12, including all 10 of his free throw attempts. The Ramblers outshot Youngstown State 24-6 from the free throw line.

Loyola also hit 12 of 16 second-half field goal tries to put them at 58 percent shooting for the game. The Penguins finished at 39 percent.

Youngstown State ended its season at 7-21 and on a nine-game losing streak.

Loyola, which will face Detroit in Friday's quarterfinals, improved to 18-10 - the most wins the Ramblers have recorded since the 1985 team went 27-6 to reach the NCAA quarterfinals.
