CHICAGO - Former Loyola University Chicago standout Blake Schilb has helped his team to the Czech Republic NBL Championship. The versatile 6-foot-7 Loyola graduate helped Nymburk to its fifth straight Czech League title as the team posted a staggering 43-1 record and defeated Geofin, four games to one, in the best-of-seven championship series.

Schilb scored in double figures in eight of Nymburk's 11 playoff contests, including three of the five games during the finals. He put together his best effort of the playoffs in a game four win over Geofin in the finals, going for 23 points and a season-high 16 rebounds. In five games in the finals, Schilb contributed 14.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest.

A double-digit scorer in 34 games this season, Schilb tallied a season-high 25 points in a Jan.12 meeting with USK Praha and again May 16 in a playoff game versus BK Pardubice. For the season, he averaged 11.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg and 2.5 apg, while shooting 56 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 74 percent from the foul line in 22.7 minutes per game.

At Loyola, Schilb was a three-time First Team All-Horizon League selection and was named Honorable Mention Associated Press All-America in 2007. He closed out his illustrious career ranked fifth on Loyola's career scoring chart with 1,879 points and is the only player in Rambler history to accumulate over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists in his career.
