CHICAGO Former Loyola University Chicago defender Casey Berrier was drafted to FC Kansas City in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Supplemental Draft, it was announced today. Berrier was selected by the Blues as the sixth pick of the sixth round.

Berrier played for Loyola from 2006-09, finishing her career with the Ramblers as the all-time school leader in matches played after appearing in 92 games. Named to the All-Horizon League Second Team her senior year, Berrier was a key factor for Loyola’s defense, helping the Ramblers post 32 shutouts throughout her career.

Recently, Berrier played for the women’s Finnish team, Palloherko-35, making her Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) debut in the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying round on Nov. 8, 2012, helping her team defeat Noroc, 6-0. Berrier went on to make four additional appearances with Palloherko-35 before returning to play in the United State this year.
