Former Panthers Post Stellar Seasons Overseas in 2011-12

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- A number of former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball standouts have posted stellar seasons in Europe.

In fact, four former Panthers led their teams in scoring this season.

Clay Tucker remains a standout overseas, playing this season with Acea Virtus Roma in Italy's SerieA. Tucker was his team's leading scorer, averaging 15.4 points per contest. He added 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest while appearing all 32 games. Tucker finished his Milwaukee career in 2003.

Dylan Page continues to star for Chorale de Roanne in France's top division. Page, who finished his UWM career in 2004, actually has one regular season game remaining. He has led the team with 14.5 points per game in league play while adding 5.7 rebounds per contest. He also contributed 13.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest in his team's EuroChallenge games.

Boo Davis played with Aris Thessaloniki in Greece this season. The guard, who finished his Panther career in 2006, averaged 9.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in regular season game this year. He also averaged 12.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 12 EuroCup appearances.

Ricky Franklin played for Lusitania Angra PatrimonioI Mundial in Portugal this year. The guard, who finished his UWM career in 2010, averaged a team-best 16.5 points while adding 3.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. He also shot 51.5 percent from the field.

The most recent addition to the group of Panthers playing overseas is Anthony Hill, who finished his Milwaukee career a season ago and starred this year for Barreirense Cepsa in Portugal. This big man led his led his team in both scoring and rebounding, contributing 15.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as his squad went 14-8 during the regular season.

A handful of other Panthers have also continued their careers out of the country this past year. Shaun Fountain played for Quebec Keba in Canada, Jason McCoy was on the roster for Gaiteros de Zulia of Venezuela and Derek Durham is with ESC Trappes Saint Quentins en Yvelines in France.
