Dublin, OH--Former Cleveland State Viking Cori Coleman will travel to Finland later this summer to play professionally for Vimpelin Veto of the SM-Sarja, Finland’s top league for women. Vimpelin Veto finished in seventh place last season with a 10-17 record.

Her agent, Matthew C. Krejci, Esq., of MK Sports and Entertainment LLC said, “Cori is excited to embark on her professional basketball career in Finland. I had a client play with this team two seasons ago and she was impressed by the community support and how well the players were treated. It is a town of only 3,000 people and the majority can be found cheering the team on at a Saturday night game. This will be a wonderful place for Cori to prove she can play on the professional stage and I am confident she will do very well.” Coleman led the Vikings to the WNIT Tournament this past season and a 19-13 record. She averaged 16.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. For her career, Coleman finished 6th in career scoring with 1,584 points (919) and 17th in rebounding (551 rebounds). She also set the school record for career 3 pointers with 217. For Cori’s efforts in 2014-15, she was named First Team All Horizon League.

Jarkko Havu, coach of Vimpelin Veto, said, "I’m very excited to have Cori on our team. My expectation is that she can play well at guard and at forward if necessary. I hope she is a very aggressive defender and offensive player, and will be a good team player. I think that Vimpeli is a good and safe place to start her professional career and I’m ready to help her become an even better player. “

Coleman majored in public relations and graduated last May. She is a native of Queens, NY and a product of Murry Bergtraum HS.
