Women's Soccer Release in PDF Format
INDIANAPOLIS - Four Horizon League teams remain alive for a berth in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. Regular season co-champions Loyola and Milwaukee as well as Wright State and Butler will convene this weekend at Loyola Soccer Park in Chicago for the semifinals and title match of the U.S. Army Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship.
Loyola, the tournament's top seed, will host No. 4 seed Butler Friday at 5 p.m. ET (4 CT) in the first semifinal. The Ramblers advanced after defeating No. 9 seed Youngstown State, 5-0, last Sunday. Butler made it to Chicago with a 6-1 win over No. 5 Detroit.
No. 2 Milwaukee, which is ranked 17th in this week's Soccer Buzz poll, will take on No. 3 Wright State at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT) in Friday's nightcap. The Panthers, who are ranked second in the Great Lakes region, have won seven straight and nine of their last 10 contests. They advanced with a 5-0 win over No. 7 Green Bay on Sunday. The Raiders have won four of their last five, including a 4-1 win over No. 6 Cleveland State in the quarterfinals.
Both semifinal contests and Sunday's championship match will be streamed live on the Horizon League Network (HLN). The matches can be found at www.HorizonLeagueNetwork.tv. Video highlights of the contests will also be available next week.
