No. 2 UW-Green Bay stormed into the Horizon League Championship Game by blowing past No. 5 Detroit, 10-1, in five innings on Saturday morning at a cold and windy Ashwaubenon Sports Complex in Green Bay, Wis.

As they did in their victory over top-seed UIC Friday night, the Phoenix came out swinging as they scored four runs in the first three innings, including a two-run home run by Michelle Kaminski in the bottom of the third.

Detroit would close the gap to 4-1 on a Kristin Martin solo shot to left field in the top of the fourth, but in the bottom half, UWGB tallied four runs on a pair of RBI singles from Rebekah Oestreich and Stephanie Hansen and a two-RBI single from Kate Sullivan to push the Phoenix lead to 8-1.

After holding the Titans in the top half of the fifth, Oestreich struck again as she sent a two-run shot over the center field fence to give UW-Green Bay the 10-1 victory.

Kristin Kosobucki (9-4) picked up the win in the circle as she scattered five hits and struck out six Titan batters in five innings of work.

UW-Green Bay advances into the title game with No. 3 Cleveland State at 11:30 a.m. CDT. The Vikings are yet to lose in the double-elimination tournament.
