Indianapolis – Green Bay senior Tom Boockmeier (Green Bay, Wis.) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Youngstown State junior Emily Dixon (Pataskala, Ohio) have been named Women’s Golfers of the Week for the period of April 8-14.

Boockmeier won golfer of the week honors after a stellar three-round performance at the Big Blue Intercollegiate played in Old Hickory, Tenn. After opening the tournament with two rounds of 1-under 71s on Monday, the senior carded eight birdies on Tuesday morning to tie Green Bay’s program record with a round of 7-under 65. Boockmeier had a stretch in his final round where he birdied six straight holes. For the tournament, he finished in fourth place with a three-round score of 207, 9-under par. Boockmeier’s third round 65 ties for the lowest round of golf by a Horizon League player this season and his three-round score of 207 is the second-lowest total score this season for a three-round tournament by a Horizon League golfer.

Dixon captured women’s golfer of the week accolades after claiming medalist honors at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational played in Bowling Green, Ohio. The junior was three shots behind the leader after one round of play, but fired a final round 71 to overcome the deficit and win by one stroke. She won the event with a two-round score of 145, while YSU placed second out of 11 teams with a two-round team total of 609.
