Green Bay senior Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) has accepted an invitation to participate in the 27th Annual State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship. The contest will take place as part of the Final Four festivities in Indianapolis on Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. CST at Hinkle Fieldhouse and will be televised live on ESPN.

Sykes will be joined by seven other college seniors in competing for the dunk contest title.

As a senior, Sykes averaged 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and four assists per game while helping the Phoenix to a 24-9 overall record. He finished his career ranked second in program history in scoring and as the only player in Horizon League history to accumulate 2,000-plus points, 500-plus assists and 400-plus rebounds.

During his standout career, the point guard gained acclaimed not only for his abilities on the court but also for his ability to fly. Sykes totaled 61 career dunks, including 24 as a senior. The 6-foot point guard was a consistent fixture on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays and even earned national attention for missed dunks, like this attempt over Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky.

Sykes is the reigning champion of the dunk contest at Phoenix Madness, throwing down incredible dunks in 2013 and 2014 to defend his title.
