Hello from Valpo Basketball!

Just last year I was playing for the Crusaders so I hope to offer some unique insight here on the HLN Blog throughout the season.

It has been a tough adjustment going from playing to coaching. You can imagine the difficulties involved with such circumstances, but it's been nothing but fun going to practice and trying to help our team get better. Not surprisingly, game days have been the toughest for me to deal with so far.

The Crusaders have gotten off to a good start this year. Our schedule doesn't get any easier though, with road trips to Butler and Purdue in the near future, but our guys are getting better and better each day as they learn to play together and gain more experience.

This is a great time of the year! Coach Drew is keeping busy around the office though, just in case I get the urge to join a pick up game any time soon.

Have a blessed day!

Jake Diebler is a Student Assistant Coach for the Valparaiso men's basketball program. Last season, Diebler finished his playing career for the Crusaders, setting a school record by starting 98 consecutive games over his final three seasons.
