NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Surrendering multiple goals in a match for the first time since September, Oakland's season came to an end with a 5-0 loss at No. 3 Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer College Cup.
Oakland's 11-match unbeaten streak came to an end with the defeat as Notre Dame tallied goals in the seventh and 12th minutes and never looked back. Notre Dame outshot the Golden Grizzlies, 34-4, putting 13 on net.
Oakland's Joan Sieja led the team with two shots on goal. Oakland finished the season with an 8-6-7 record, reaching the NCAA Tournament as a member of the Horizon League for the first time.
