Men's Player of the Week

Travis Meyer, Green Bay
Meyer led Green Bay and was the top Horizon League golfer at the John Piper Intercollegiate. Meyer got the tournament off on the right foot with a four-under 68 to lead all golfers. He finished tied for sixth place with a total of 215 (one-under).

Women's Co-Players of the Week
Mollie Boney and Katie Rogner, Youngstown State
Boney and Rogner each tallied 156-stroke totals as Youngstown State claimed the title at its own fall invitational. Rogner paced the Penguins in the opening round with a 76 and Boney capped the victory with a team-best final round of 76.

Men's

Jake Scott, Cleveland State
Scott placed ninth in the season opening John Piper Invitational hosted by Bowling Green at Stone Ridge Golf Club. His best round came first as he shot a two-under 70.

Mikhial Pasic, Detroit
Pasic led Detroit individually, placing 17th overall (222) following rounds of 75, 74 and 73. His final-round 73 was bettered by only seven golfers in the 78-man field.

Armando Favela, Loyola
Favela shot a three-over-par 75 to place tied for 17th as Loyola finished 10th at the 16-team Purdue Midwest Shootout. The left-handed Favela was Loyola's top golfer, picking up where he left off last season, when he owned a school-record 73.6 average.

Christian Heck, Wright State
Heck posted three rounds in the 70's this weekend at the BGSU John Piper Invitational. The freshman posted the Raiders only round at-par and ended up in a four-way tie for 34th place. His overall score of 227 was +11 to par for the course.

Women's

Paige McCracken, Butler
McCracken helped Butler to a fourth-place team finish at the Chris Banister Gamecock Classic, hosted by Jacksonville State. She tied for 11th place in the final individual standings with rounds of 77, 74 and 80 (231) in the 54-hole event.

Katie Broere, Cleveland State
Broere tied for second overall at the Youngstown State Invitational contested Sunday and Monday at Salem Hills Golf Course. After opening with an 81 in Sunday's first round, Broere came back to fire a career-best 75 in Monday's final round and tie for second place.

Mandi Dupuis, Detroit
Dupuis carded rounds of 78 and 80 to take seventh place individually at the YSU Invitational.

Horizon League News & Notes

Butler Bulldogs
Men's
- Butler opened the 2007 fall season at the Indianapolis Invitational (Sept. 4-5), before competing in the John Piper Intercollegiate, hosted by Bowling Green.

- Sophomore Kyle Thomas shot a 36-hole total of even-par 144 to help lead the Bulldogs to a sixth-place team finish in the 11-team event. Thomas shot a three-under-par 69 in the opening round and wound up tied for fifth place in the final individual standings.

Women's
- The Bulldogs opened the season in Jacksonville, Ala., with a fourth place finish at the Chris Banister Gamecock Classic hosted by Jacksonville State. Butler was the lone team from north of Kentucky in the nine-team field.

- Junior Lynnsey Showers returned to the Bulldogs lineup, after sitting out last season as a redshirt. Showers, a two-time Horizon League Player of the Year, shot rounds of 77, 80 and 77 in her first match since 2006.

Cleveland State Vikings
Men's
- CSU's third round total of 302 in the final round was the third-lowest total in the 15 team field behind only Eastern Kentucky (283) and Bowling Green (295).

- Junior Jake Scott's ninth-place finish at the John Piper Invitational was his fourth top-10 finish in his last six events.

Women's
- The Vikings second round total of 320 at the Youngstown State Invitational was the lowest round recorded in school-history and the team's total of 629 at also a school-record.

- With her tie for eighth place at the YSU Invitational, Mallory Wyderka has now posted three straight top-10 finishes.

Detroit Titans
Men's
- The Titans opened their fall campaign by claiming seventh place at Bowling Green's John Piper Invitational. The team entered the final 18 in ninth place, shooting a 307 to step up two positions.

Women's
- UDM began the fall season with a third-place finish at the Youngstown State Invitational.

- Senior Mandi Dupuis, one of three players left from Detroit's first-ever (2004-05) women's golf roster, led the way for the Titans. The three-time All-League pick carded rounds of 78 and 80 to take seventh place individually.

Loyola Ramblers
Men's
- Loyola captured 10th place at the Purdue Midwest Shootout in its fall season opener. The Ramblers finished a mere stroke behind the University of Arizona for ninth place.

- The Ramblers were led by the play of junior Armando Favela, who tied for 17th place with a 75 as the tournament was shortened to 18 holes due to incliment weather.

Women's
- Loyola opened the fall season at the Brickyard Preview in Indianapolis, Ind., finishing in 11th place.- Freshman Lauren Oh fired a two-over-par 74 in her first collegiate round in round one and sophomore Lucy McGovern picked up where she left off last year as she led the Ramblers with a 156 (79-77) to tie for 21st place.

Green Bay Phoenix
Men's
- The Green Bay men's golf team held on during Tuesday's final round of the John Piper Intercollegiate Invitational and secured a third-place finish in the 15-team event at Stone Ridge Golf Club.

- Senior Travis Meyer went on to tie for sixth overall with a one-under 216 on the par-72 course. Gosh placed 13th overall went three-over for the tournament while freshman Bo Van Handel had a solid showing in his debut with a six-over 222.

Women's
- Did not compete

Wright State Raiders
Men's
- Wright State placed 12th at the John Piper Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday with the final round at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.

- Freshman Christian Heck was the top finisher for the Raiders as he tied for 34th with a three-round score of 227. Junior Tyler Miskell tied for 39th with a 228.

Youngstown State Penguins
Men's
- Youngstown State started the fall season off by tying seventh place at the John Piper Intercollegiate, a vast improvement over the Penguins 13th-place finish a year ago.

- YSU was led by junior Ryan Stocke and senior Ross Beal who both carded three-round totals of 220. Beal's opening-round 71 (-1) was the team's lowest round of the tournament.

Women's
- Youngstown State claimed the season-opening YSU Fall Invitational team title finishing six strokes ahead of runner-up Dayton at Salem Hills Golf Course.

- Junior Mollie Boney led the Guins with a score of 76 on Monday's play, finishing the tournament with a total score of 156. First-round leader freshman Katie Rogner, shot an 80 ending the invitational with a score of 156 as well.
