Horizon League Golfers of the Week
Week 1 -- Sept. 11
Men's -- Jake Scott (Cleveland State)
Women's -- Samantha Formeck (Youngstown State)

INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State University senior Jake Scott and Youngstown State University freshman Samantha Formeck have been named Horizon League Golfers of the Week for the period of Sept. 3-10.

Scott, a native of Strongsville, Ohio, posted a 72-73-71=216 to tie for fourth at the John Piper Intercollegiate in Bowling Green, Ohio.

As a team, the Vikings carded a 294-302-288=884 to place fourth out of 13 teams. Cleveland State's third-round score ended up being the best single round of the tournament.

Formeck, a native of Northern Cambria, Pa., turned in a 73-74=147 in her collegiate debut to win the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa. Her first-round score tied the school record for a single round.

As a team, the Penguins carded a 314-305=619 to place second out of 12 teams. Youngstown State's total set the school record for a two-round tournament.
