She shot an opening-round 76 and then closed with a final round, three-over-par 75 to finish one stroke behind individual medalist Patricia Ellsworth of Oakland. Her 75 was the best score of any player in the final round! She helped Butler to a fourth place team finish in the tournament.

Other Top Male Performers

Michael Poteracki, Butler, Freshman (Arlington Hts., Ill.)

Poteracki shot a 78 to tie for medalist honors at the Big Four Tournament, held at Crooked Stick Golf Course in Carmel, Ind. He helped Butler to a tie for the team title in the four-team meet (Butler subsequently was awarded second place based on the fifth player's score).

Mike Rutgers, Cleveland State, Sophomore (Kingsville, Ontario)

Rutgers finished in fifth place at the Joe Cole/CSU Invitational April 10-11 after carding a team-best 235 (74-80-81) . His opening-round score of 74 was the third-best tally on the day.

Sean Hutchison, Detroit, Junior (Traverse City, Mich.)

Hutchison tied for second place individually, leading the Detroit Titan golfers to a wire-to-wire team championship at Cleveland State's Joe Cole Invitational. In cold and blustery conditions, Hutchison put together a 73-78-79--230 scorecard to pace the Titans to their first tournament victory since winning the 2002 Horizon League title.

Marty Miller, Wright State, Senior (Middletown, Ohio)

Miller shot a six-over-par 219 for 28th place in the Marshall Invitational at the par 71 Guyan Country Club in Huntington, W.Va. on Friday and Saturday.

Ross Beal, Youngstown State, Sophomore (Uniontown, Ohio)

Beal tied for second with the Detroit's Sean Hutchinson at the Joe Cole/Cleveland State Invitational which concluded on Tuesday at the Red Tail Golf Club. Beal and Hutchinson finished with three-round scores of 230, but Oakland's Brian Stuard was too much for both players winning the event with a 221. Beal carded rounds of 79, 79 and 72 during the event. His score of 72 on Tuesday was the low round of the afternoon.
