UW-Green Bay junior Eric Mabee is the Horizon League Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 26.
Mabee led wire-to-wire to take home medalist honors at the Dayton Spring Invitational April 25-26. His even par 54-hole total of 71-73-72--216 won the individual competition by four strokes. The tournament win was the first for the Phoenix under third-year head coach Shaun Rezachek. The last time a Phoenix squad won a golf tournament was over three years ago, Sept. 10-11, 2001 at the Detroit Invitational. Brian Berggren was the last Phoenix golfer to win an individual tournament title when he took home first place in the same event by a three-stroke margin.

Chris Spitler, Butler, Sophomore (Tipp City, Ohio)
Spitler finished runner-up at the University of Dayton Spring Invitational with a 54-hole total of 220. He shot an opening round, one-over-par 73, and then came back with a 75 in the second round. He closed with an even-par 72 in the cold and wet conditions at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace. Spitler was one of five golfers to post the low round on the final day.
Mike Rutgers, Cleveland State, Sophomore (Kingsville, Ont.)
Rutgers was the Vikings' top finisher at the Dayton Invitational April 25-26, placing third with a three-round total of 222 (73-77-72).
Aaron Harter, Loyola, Freshman (Ojai, Calif.)
Harter was Loyola's top finisher at the Dayton Invitational, placing tied for 24th with a 54-hole total score of 238 (77-82-79). The freshman fired a five-over 77 in the opening round of competition on April 25.
Nate Komsa, Youngstown State, Junior (Lakeshore, Ont.)
Komsa placed tied for 24th at the Dayton Spring Invitational April 25-26. He carded a three-round total of 238 (78-78-82) during the two-day event.
