Gonzalez, Hill Named Divers of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State’s Josh Gonzalez and Youngstown State’s Casey Hill are the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for Oct. 17-23.

Gonzalez, a senior from Brunswick, Ohio, earned diver of the week after placing first in the 3-meter and second in the 1-meter diving events in Cleveland State’s dual-match victory over Green Bay. Gonzalez won the 3-meter event with a score of 316.95 and finished second in the 1-meter event with a score of 299.77.

Cleveland State is off until Friday, Nov. 4 when it travels to Columbus, Ohio to face Ohio State, Denison and Virginia Tech.

Hill, a junior from Bethlehem, Pa., swept the diving events in two different meets last week. Hill won the 1-meter (259.12) and the 3-meter (223.73) events in Youngstown State’s dual-match against Green Bay on Friday. On Sunday, at the Clarion Invite, Hill again took top honors in both events with a 1-meter score of 233.15 and a 3-meter score of 242.45.

Youngstown State is next in action on Friday, Oct. 28 against Niagara.
