INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State forward Imani Gordon (Akron, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League women’s basketball Player of the Week and Milwaukee guard Sydney Snower (Chicago, Ill.) has been named Freshman of the Week.

Gordon posted back-to-back double-doubles for the Vikings as Cleveland State won two road games to start Horizon League play 2-0. She started League play with a then career-high tying 25 points and 12 rebounds in the Vikings 78-71 win at Detroit. Eight of Gordon’s rebounds were on the offensive end in the game and she also notched a career-high six steals.

On Sunday, Gordon had a career-high 30 points and a season-high 14 rebounds in Cleveland State’s 98-82 win at Wright State. The Akron, Ohio native was 9-of-16 from the field in the ballgame as the Vikings scored the most points in a game since the 2002 season.

For the week, Gordon averaged 27.5 points per game and 13.0 rebounds.

Cleveland State (7-8, 2-0) returns home this week for two games. They host Milwaukee (5-9, 1-0) on Thursday and Green Bay (8-6, 1-1) on Saturday.

Snower earned Freshman honors after scoring 11 points off-the-bench to help lead Milwaukee to a come-from-behind win at Green Bay. Snower connected on all three of her three-point field goal attempts as the Panthers overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat Green Bay, 75-64. The win snapped Milwaukee’s 17-game losing streak to Green Bay.

The Panthers travel to Northeast Ohio this week for two games. They play at Cleveland State on Thursday before closing the trip at Youngstown State (6-9, 2-0) on Saturday.

Top Performers for the Week:
Katie Hannemann, UIC
(Sr., C) - Hannemann had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds at Green Bay on Wednesday. It was her fourth double-double of the season.
Heidi Schlegel, Youngstown State (Jr., F) - Schlegel averaged 23.5 points and 16.0 rebounds as the Penguins started 2-0 in the HL for the first time since the 2007-08 season. She had 19 points and 19 rebounds - the most rebounds by a HL player this season - in YSU’s win at Valparaiso on Thursday. She had game-highs of 28 points and 11 rebounds in YSU’s win at UIC on Saturday.
Ivory James, Wright State (Sr., G) - James had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds against Oakland. She had 13 points versus Cleveland State. James shot 54.2 percent (13-of-24) from the field in the two games.
Sharon Karungi, Valparaiso (Jr., F) - Karungi scored a career-high 21 points in Valpo’s conference-opener against Youngstown State. She also had nine rebounds in the game.
Kaili Lukan, Green Bay (So., G) - Lukan recorded 20+-point performances in back-to-back games last week, scoring 22 points against UIC and a career-high 25 against Milwaukee. She was 18-of-31 (.581) and also grabbed 11 rebounds and had four steals in the two games.
Elena Popkey, Oakland (So., G) - Popkey recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in Oakland’s win at Detroit. it was her second-career double-double. She had 20 points in the Golden Grizzlies game at Wright State on Wednesday.
Angela Rodriguez, Milwaukee (Sr., G) - Rodriguez played all 40 minutes in Milwaukee’s 75-64 win at Green Bay, which snapped UWM’s 17-game losing streak to the Phoenix. She scored 23 points - on 8-of-13 shooting - and had eight assists in the game.
Senee Shearer, Detroit (Sr., G) - Shearer posted a pair of 20-point performances last week. She had 24 against Cleveland State and then tied her career-high with 29 points against Oakland.

Top Freshman for the Week:
Tesha Buck, Green Bay
(Fr., G) - Buck had a career-high 20 points in Green Bay’s win over UIC on Wednesday. On Saturday, she had a career-high eight rebounds and scored nine points against Milwaukee.
Megan Galloway, Detroit (Fr., F) - Galloway tallied her first collegiate double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds versus Cleveland State. The 10 rebounds were a career-high.
Aliyah Isaac, Valparaiso (Fr., G) - Isaac was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field, finishing with a season-high nine points in Valpo’s League-opener against Youngstown State.
