INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State’s Nathan Grant and Alice Sommerville are the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmer of the Week for Nov. 7-13.

Grant, a freshman from Blacktown, Australia, won two out of three events he competed in against Valparaiso and St. Bonaventure on Saturday to help the Vikings defeat both opponents. Grant won the 200-freestyle (1:42.84) and the 200-breaststroke (2:07.51) beating eight other swimmers. He also placed second in the 100-freestyle event with a time of 47.09 seconds, only .04 seconds behind the winner.

Sommerville, a junior from Methven, New Zealand, took home women’s top honors after finishing first in all six events she entered last weekend and setting one pool record at the Beeghly Natatorium. On Friday at Youngstown State, Sommerville won the 100-freestyle in 53.07 and the 100-breaststorke in a pool record time of 1:05.76. Sommerville also took home top honors in the 50-freestyle (24.18) and 200-fly (2:07.36) at home on Saturday.

Cleveland State is back in action this weekend in the TYR Invitational hosted by Northwestern which runs from Friday to Sunday.
