INDIANAPOLIS - Wright State sophomore Garrett Gray and Valparaiso junior Bryce Shafer have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of April 12-18. Shafer registers his fourth career weekly honor from the League office, while Gray notches his first.
Gray picks up Batter of the Week accolades after going 9-for-18 (.500) with one triple, three homers, four RBI and nine runs in five games last week. He also registered a 1.111 slugging percentage and .545 on-base percentage for the Raiders.
The catcher, a native of Lewisburg, Ohio, extended his hitting streak to a season-best 13 games during the stretch. He turned in three multi-hit efforts and belted a roundtripper in three consecutive affairs.
