Greco, Johnson Named Divers of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS -- UIC’s Mike Greco and Whitney Johnson are the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for Jan. 9-Jan. 15.

Greco, a junior from Naperville, Ill., earned diver of the week placing first in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in UIC’s 158-83 win over Green Bay. Greco won the 1-meter dive with a score of 293.55 and the 3-meter dive with a score of 323.40.

Johnson, a freshman from Roscoe, Ill., won the 1-meter dive and finished second in the 3-meter dive to help UIC’s women’s team also knock off Green Bay. Johnson’s winning time on the 1-meter dive was 229.20 while her score of 249.23 in the 3-meter event finished second.

UIC hosts Valparaiso and Illinois State on Friday, while the UIC Diving Invitational is scheduled to being on Saturday.
