No. 1 Green Bay 64, No. 2 Milwaukee 32
The Green Bay Phoenix captured their fourteenth Horizon League Championship title and automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with a 64-32 win over Milwaukee Sunday afternoon at the Kress Events Center.

Green Bay is now the second school in Horizon League history to have both its men’s and women’s basketball programs win tournament crowns in the same year. Milwaukee was the first to hit this mark in 2005-06. The Horizon League is currently one of seven conferences to have the same school win both titles, with the potential of that number reaching ten depending on outcomes later today.

Despite the game being close the opening minutes, the Phoenix pulled away in the first half to take a 38-18 lead at intermission.

Green Bay was led by its stifling defense that forced nine turnovers in the beginning quarters and a total of 19 for the contest. The Phoenix also won the battle of the boards edging Milwaukee 42-32 and garnered 11 steals.

The Green Bay offense was led by Tesha Buck with 14 points and a 4-for-6 effort from behind the arc and Jessica Lindstrom with 13 points and five rebounds.

The Panthers’ Steph Kostowicz had a balanced stat line with a team-high 10 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals followed by Sydney Howard with seven points.

Green Bay will find out which team it will face during the NCAA Selection Show tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
