Green Bay collected the lone Horizon League men's basketball win on Tuesday, while Milwaukee felt like it left a possible win get away against No. 14 Wisconsin and UIC fell at Oregon State.

Green Bay 69, Michigan Tech 61
Alec Brown and Keifer Sykes led Green Bay (5-6) past a pesky Michigan Tech squad, 69-61, as the Phoenix returned to the Resch Center.

Green Bay improved 5-0 at home this year as Brown collected his second straight game with 20 or more points, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. The five swats gave the sophomore 100 for his career in just 43 games.

Brennan Cougill teamed with Brown to form a formidable front court, supplementing Brown's effort with a versatile inside-outside game. Cougill went 1-of-2 from three-point range and collected 11 points on the night.

While Brown and Cougill controlled the interior, Sykes was busy setting a new career high with 18 points. Going 7-of-15 from the field, Sykes controlled the Phoenix offense, scoring five straight points on a layup and three-point play, turning a three-point cushion into a 58-50 Green Bay lead with 4:14 to play.

#14/15 Wisconsin 60, Milwaukee 54
Trailing by 17 points with 15 minutes to play, Milwaukee (8-3) rallied to knot the game with 5:22 remaining but could not get over the hump in a 60-54 loss to No. 14 Wisconsin at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Milwaukee's deficit was 10 halfway through the second half before a flurry of three-pointers brought the Panthers back and the regular-season record crowd of 10,143 to its feet in the game's last 10 minutes. Tony Meier was the main reason for the comeback, as he scored 12 of the Panthers' 13 points in a 13-3 run that tied the game at 48 with 5:22 to play.

Meier got the run started with his first three-pointer of the game, then followed it up by heading to the post, where the Milwaukee offense was able to create mismatches, leading to two layups and a three-point play.

With Milwaukee looking to seize momentum and the game, Wisconsin responded with two clutch shots to help snare the win. First, following Meier's rebound and layup to tie the contest, Jared Berggren hit a three-pointer as the shot clock expired to restore the Badger's lead, 51-48. Milwaukee would follow with a Ryan Allen dunk, but would draw no closer.

In the final minute, Milwaukee trailed 53-50, but as the shot clock wound down, Jordan Taylor hit a three from the edge of the midcourt logo, giving Wisconsin a 58-52 advantage with 41 ticks left. The Panthers missed four three-pointers down the stretch in a comeback effort.

Meier finished with a team-high 15 points, joined in double figures by James Haarsma and Evan Richard, who recorded 11 and 10, respectively.

Milwaukee shot just 30.8 percent in the first half and was 7-of-17 from the free throw line, hampering its comeback efforts throughout. The Panthers played with starters Kyle Kelm (shoulder) and Ja'Rob McCallum (hand).

Oregon State 95, UIC 53
UIC (3-6) was buried under an Oregon State attack that shot 57 percent from the field, sending the Flames to a 95-53 loss in Corvallis, Ore.

UIC scored the first points of the game, but soon found itself down by as many as 25 points in the first half as Oregon State went 17-for-29 from the floor. Conversely, UIC struggled throughout, hitting just 22 percent of its attempts in the first half, including just 1-of-11 three pointers.

While the Flames shot better in the game's final 20 minutes, the Beavers continued to blister the nets, going 16-of-28 from the field and scoring 50 points.

Daniel Barnes and Greg Travis each scored eight points to lead UIC.
