Green Bay game notes

DALLAS, Texas -- After making Horizon League history with its trip to the Sweet 16, fifth-seeded No. 13/11 Green Bay (34-1) will face No. 3/3 top-seeded Baylor (33-2) on Sunday in the NCAA Tournament regional semifinal at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.  The game will start at approximately 7pm ET and will broadcast on ESPN2 with Pam Ward, Stephanie White and Beth Mowins with the call.

The Phoenix advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in its 38-year-old program with a 65-56 victory over fourth-seeded Michigan State in the second round.  Green Bay is currently on a 25-game winning streak and 12th NCAA tournament run.

Sophomore Adrian Ritchie scored 20 off the bench against the Spartans, hitting a career-high four three pointers.

Baylor advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third-consecutive season and sixth time in program history with an 82-68 victory over ninth-seeded West Virginia.  The Lady Bears have won their last nine games.

Sophomore Brittney Griner led the Lady Bears with a game-high 30 points against the Mountaineers and is currently leading the nation in blocked shots this season and now has 162 rejections.

Green Bay is the first team other than Connecticut and Tennessee to have at least 32 wins entering the NCAA Tournament.

The Phoenix joined a list of 16 teams (including Connecticut this season) who entered the NCAA Tournament with at least 30 wins and no more than one loss. All 14 of the previous teams advanced at least as far as the Sweet 16, and all but two reached the Final Four.

Also joining Baylor and Green Bay in the Dallas Regional are second-seeded Texas A&M (29-5) and sixth-seeded Georgia (23-10).
