INDIANAPOLIS –Green Bay senior guard Celeste Hoewisch has been named Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan 24.
Hoewisch helped the Phoenix secure the league lead and remain undefeated in conference play with two road wins last week.
The Hortonville, Wis., native poured in 19 points in 20 minutes of play in the second half against the Butler after scoring four points in 10 minutes in the first half. She then tallied 14 points in the second half against Valparaiso before finishing with a game-high 17 points.
Hoewisch shot 68 percent, going 11-for-16 from the field, and was perfect in free throws, hitting 12-of-12. She also led Green Bay from the three-point range, shooting 75 percent (6-8).
The senior also recorded nine rebounds, six assists and two steals on the week.
Green Bay welcomes Cleveland State on Thursday for an 8pm ET contest to kick off the second half of conference play. The Phoenix then hosts Youngstown State on Saturday in a 3pm tipoff.
