INDIANAPOLIS—Green Bay’s Willem Poelmans (Hasselt, Belgium) and Milwaukee’s Emily McClellan (Delavan, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while Milwaukee’s K.J. Heger (Rockford, Ill.) and Rachel Margis (Racine, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-10.

Poelmans led Green Bay in the pool in a dual meet versus in-state rival Wisconsin to earn his second League honor this season. Against the Badgers, he placed third in two events swimming the 100-freestyle in a time of 47.14 and the 200-breaststroke posting a time of 2:08.24. Poelmans broke a Dorschel Natatorium record in the 200-individual medley recording a time of 1:52.32. The previous 200-individual medley record time was 1:53.16 and had been held since 2011.

McClellan earned her third League accolade on the season winning two individual events at home against Big Ten-foe Wisconsin. The senior broke her own pool record in the 100-breaststroke taking first-place with a time of 1:00.74. In the 200-freestyle, she collected another first-place finish with a career-best time of 1:52.65. As a member of the 200-medley relay, the team posted a season-best time of 1:44.47 despite placing second to the Badgers.

Heger collected the diving League honor for the fourth-straight week and eighth time this year. Diving against Wisconsin, the junior won the 3-meter for the eighth time this season compiling a score of 358.42 for his 19th NCAA Zone Qualifying score. On the 1-meter board, Heger took second-place with a score of 291.90

Margis tallied two second-place finishes in diving competition while taking on the Badgers. She posted a score of 261.07 on the 1-meter board and scored 275.92 in the 3-meter for the Panthers. The sophomore has now earned two League weekly honors this year.

Milwaukee takes a short break from competition before the Midwest Invitational Feb. 21-22 in Chicago. At the end of the month, the Panthers and Green Bay travel to Cleveland, Ohio to compete in the Horizon League Championships. The Championships are Feb. 26-March 1 at the Robert F.
