Green Bay's Schott, Milwaukee's Potter earn player of the week

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Green Bay senior Whitney Schott has been named Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Milwaukee junior Morgan Potter has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the period of Nov. 1-7.

Schott, a setter from Roscoe, Ill., tallied 87 assists (12.43 assists per set), leading the Phoenix to two road victories last week.  She had 54 assists and a career-high 24 digs in a 3-1 upset at Butler on Friday and 33 assists in a sweep of Wright State on Saturday.  Schott tallied a total 30 digs (4.29 dps), six kills, three blocks and two aces on the weekend.

Potter, a libero from Stoughton, Wis., picks up her third season accolade after recording 38 digs (5.43 dps), helping the Panthers win two matches and clinch the Horizon League regular season title over the weekend.  She tallied 14 digs in a three-set win at Wright State on Friday and added 24 more in a 3-1 victory at Butler on Saturday to secure the crown.  Potter also recorded six assists, while helping limit opponents to a .137 hitting clip over the weekend.

The Phoenix and the Panthers will wrap up the regular season this weekend as they each host UIC.  The Flames will travel to Green Bay on Friday before heading to Milwaukee on Saturday for 8pm ET matches.
