GREEN BAY, Wis.– Green Bay senior Michael Tenzer (Neuried, Germany) has become the first men’s singles tennis player in program history to be nationally ranked.

Tenzer has been ranked No. 77 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Men’s National Singles Rankings for the week of Jan. 6.

“I am very excited for Michael earning the first singles ranking in Green Bay history,” said head coach Mark Thomas. “Michael had a great fall with wins over the ITA Midwest Regional Champion, Mikael Torpegaard from Ohio State, and blue chip recruit Logan Staggs from Northwestern. He continues to set the bar high for Green Bay tennis with both the highest singles and doubles ranking in program history.”

The next ITA poll comes out on Jan. 20. To see the entire list of rankings, click here.

Tenzer is the defending, back-to-back Horizon League Men’s Tennis Player of the Year.

Green Bay men’s tennis will next be in action Friday, Jan. 23 when the team travels to Champaign, Ill. for matches with Ball State and Illinois.
