INDIANAPOLIS – Green Bay senior forward Kayla Tetschlag has been named Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 27.
Tetschlag received the honor for her stellar all-around performance last week. She posted consecutive double-doubles as Green Bay picked up wins in its first two conference games this season. The Phoenix also defeated South Dakota, 70-53 on Tuesday.
The Sheboygan, Wis., native scored 19 points against Detroit, including her 1,000th career point with 3:54 remaining in the game, giving Green Bay the final lead. She also contributed 11 rebounds on Friday, helping the Phoenix defeat the Titans, 69-62.
The Preseason Player of the Year selection then collected 15 points and 10 boards on Sunday as Green Bay downed Wright State, 75-57. Tetschlag also added nine assists and nine steals and connected on 14-of-14 at the free throw line on the week.
Green Bay will travel to Youngstown State on Thursday for a 7:05pm ET contest. The Phoenix will then head to Cleveland State on Saturday for a 2pm ET tipoff.
