Sarah Hagen of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the TopDrawerSoccer.com Players to Watch Player of the Week, the website announced today.
Hagen, who is rated as the No. 7 upperclassman by TDS, has made the site's team of the week now five times. This is her first TDS player of the week honor and the third national player of the week award of her career.
Milwaukee is off to a 4-0 start behind Hagen's five goals this season. She tallied three last weekend, leading the Panthers to a 2-0 record at the Milwaukee Cup. In a 3-2 win over Long Beach State Friday, she had her team's first two goals. Then, Sunday, she added the final tally in a 3-0 win over Saint Louis.
Following the match on Sunday, Hagen was one of three Milwaukee players named to the Milwaukee Cup All-Tournament Team.
The team's 4-0 start is its best since a 6-0 start to the 2008 campaign. The Panthers travel to Minneapolis this weekend for the Minnesota Gold Classic. They take on Iowa State Friday and the host Golden Gophers Sunday.
