MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Freshman Sarah Hagen of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named to the National Team of the Week by both Soccer America and Soccer Buzz, the publications announced late Tuesday.

Hagen was also named to the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team of the Week last week, making her the first Panther to earn a national team of the week honor in two different weeks, much less back-to-back weeks. She is also the third player in team history to earn the award from both publications, the first since Sarah Teegarden during the 2006 season.

Hagen continued her domination of opposing defenses last week, scoring in all three games and leading UWM to a 3-0 record with a pair of game-winners. The Appleton, Wis., native scored the game's lone goal in a 1-0 win over Marquette Wednesday. She then picked up a score in a 4-1 defeat of Western Michigan Friday and once again provided all the offense in a 1-0 win against Illinois State Sunday.

Hagen has scored at least one goal in each of the first six games this season and leads the nation with eight goals. She is also tied for the national lead with 17 points. Her six-game goal-scoring streak is a school record for any class, at any point of the season, let alone the first games of a college career.

Also, not a week has gone by in the young forward's collegiate career where she has not also been honored in some way. She was named the Horizon League Player of the Week Aug. 25.

Hagen and the Panthers are back in action this weekend, leaving the city of Milwaukee for the first time this season for Albuquerque, N.M. UWM will play in the UNM Nike Classic, facing host New Mexico Friday and UNLV Sunday.
