KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Milwaukee senior forward Sarah Hagen (Appleton, Wis./North) has been chosen as a semifinalist for the Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy, given to the nation's top male and female soccer players. Hagen is one of four women to repeat as a semifinalist for the award.

Hagen led Milwaukee (19-3) to the program's finest season, as the Panthers breezed through the Horizon League in perfect form en route to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Milwaukee's 3-1 win over Illinois State in the tournament's first round was the first in program history.

In her senior year, Hagen was one of the top offensive players in the country, netting a Horizon League record 26 goals and 61 points. Both marks ranked second in the country, but Hagen paced the NCAA in both goals (1.238) and points (2.90) per game.

Hagen's senior year was the icing on the finest career in Horizon League history. In her four years, Hagen tallied 93 goals and 26 points, finishing with 212 points. In NCAA history, Hagen ranks ninth all-time in goals and is tied for 15th in points.

After her junior year, Hagen was a Hermann Trophy semifinalist, going on to spend the summer with US Soccer's U-23 Team, leading the team in scoring, setting up her record-setting senior season.

Head coaches of NCAA Division I programs with current membership in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) will vote to determine the 2011 MAC Hermann Trophy recipient. Three finalists for the award will be announced on Friday, Dec. 9. They will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis for a news conference on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, where the winner will be announced. A dinner and form presentation of the award will follow the news conference that evening.
