MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Sarah Hagen, a senior forward with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team, has been invited to another training camp with the US U23 Women's National Team, US Soccer announced late Monday.
Hagen has played with the U23 national team in each of the last two years. This camp will feature coaches from the full national team in attendance, allowing head coach Pia Sundhage and her staff the chance to evaluate the U23 players.
"For Sarah, it's an honor to be in the mix (for the 2012 Olympics and Olympic qualifying)," Milwaukee head coach Michael Moynihan said. "She's excited about getting a look from the full national team coach. And, when an opportunity like that comes along, you can't help but be excited for her and how far she's come. Hopefully, she'll do well and take advantage of this opportunity."
Hagen has been the U23's top scorer this year, scoring goals in all six of the team's international competitions. She started each game and tallied seven goals and while adding an assist.
This season for Milwaukee, Hagen has continued her scoring pace, leading the league with 13 goals and 30 points. She also has seven game-winning goals, tops in the country. She has led the Panthers to a program-best 10-1 record, a No. 12 national ranking and the top spot in the Great Lakes Region.
The camp will run from Oct. 2-7 in Carson, Calif.
