Women's Soccer Player of the Week:
Sarah Hagen, Milwaukee
Junior, Forward
Appleton, Wis.

INDIANAPOLIS – University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee junior Sarah Hagen (Appleton, Wis.) has been named Horizon League Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, for the week beginning Sept. 27.  The honor is the third consecutive for Hagen, who has netted seven goals in that span.

In a back-and-forth 4-3 overtime loss at Texas, Hagen had a hand in all three Milwaukee goals, potting two goals and adding an assist as well.

The first of Hagen’s two goals gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute of play in Austin, Texas.  Hagen’s Horizon League record-tying 57th career goal came in the 85th minute, as she put in a rebound to knot the match at three.

Hagen, the 2009 Horizon League Player of the Year, tied the Horizon League career goals mark held by fellow Panther Lisa Lrzykowski, who played for Milwaukee from 1994-97.

The league leader in goals (9), assists (5) and points (23), Hagen has found the back of the net in five consecutive matches, the fourth-longest streak in Milwaukee history.

Entering the week, Milwaukee was third in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/HendrickCars.com Great Lakes Region poll.

Hagen will look for the record-breaking goal this weekend, as the Panthers return home for two Horizon League matches.  Milwaukee will host Valpraiso on Friday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET before taking on Butler at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 10.
