INDIANAPOLIS -- Youngstown State University junior Jacke Healey and Valparaiso University sophomore Jon Gulbransen have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of Feb. 23-March 1.

A native of Tunkhannock, Pa., Healey picks up Batter of the Week accolades after going 5-for-8 with one homer, four doubles, four RBI and five runs in two games last week.

The middle infielder belted a game-winning, two-run homer in the ninth inning of Friday's 7-6 victory over Virginia Military Institute. He then recorded an RBI double that broke a 4-4 tie in the ninth inning of Saturday's 9-4 win over the Keydets.

Youngstown State improves to 2-3 on the season with its two-game sweep of VMI.

A native of Appleton, Wis., Gulbransen notches Pitcher of the Week honors after firing eight scoreless innings in game one of Sunday's doubleheader at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. The Crusaders took both ends of the twinbill, 2-0 and 10-8.

The left-hander, who earned the win, allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out eight against the Trojans.

Valparaiso improves to 4-1 on the campaign after taking two of three from UALR in the weekend set.

Youngstown State returns to action this weekend with a three-game series at Towson University. The Penguins and Tigers are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday (Noon ET) and single game on Sunday (1 p.m.).

Valparaiso is slated to play five road games in six days this week. The Crusaders will face the University of Arkansas on Tuesday (4:05 p.m.) and Wednesday (4:05 p.m.) before squaring off with the University of Memphis on Friday (5 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.).
